Reading #1- Multitasking
The first responses I chose to share was the multitasking reading. This article consisted of information about how multitasking can negatively affect ones academic career. It gives examples of how it can make you less focused on each task you are trying to complete and not finish anything at your full effort.
During my time in school I have tried to multitask multiple times to try to get things done as soon as possible. I have learned that when I do multitask I lose track of eventually each task I was trying to complete. I could not put my full attention to one discipline because I got too distracted by the other ones that I was also trying to achieve. I now try to avoid multi-tasking so my finishing projects are superior and are completed more efficiently. In fact, I have also witnessed many of my classmates try to multitask and end up not doing well in any of the tasks they were trying to complete. Although it may seem like an efficient route; I learned that it only leads to conclusions that are not finished to my full ability.
I am for the proposition that students should be banned from multi-tasking in classrooms in a manner that can be seen or heard by other students in the classroom. From the articles and the research explained, it showed on various occasions of how multitasking leads students to not put in their full effort. For example, by trying to balance their attention of all of the tasks, they are losing their devotion to eventually all of the tasks. Meanwhile, if every student would be banned from multi-tasking then it could positively affect their academic performance. It could also give the educators an easier chance to teach the material because they will be receiving more attention from the students that are usually distracted.
